One night in Paris --- where to eat!?

Going to Paris April 8th with my husband and son(11) and daughter(15) and would like a delicious French restaurant for us all to remember. We can splurge but do not want to be intimidated by stuffy waiters or atmosphere. We will be staying at L%26#39;Hotel in the Latin Quarter and would be happy to eat close but would travel a distance if needs be.

Are you looking for a bistro-type restaurant or not?

|||

Restaurant recommendations are rather difficult, personal taste varies so much. Here is the address of a bistro, so it is not at all stuffy, the cuisine is very francaise and the menu is about 20euros a la carte. Le petit Pontoise, 9 rue de Pontoise. The nearby metro is Maubert-Mutualite. Bon appetit.

Had been thinking that a bistro might be a little too casual for our %26quot;one night%26quot;. Would like haute french cuisine but more casual than a hotel dining room like The Ritz.

|||

Sorry Tennismon just tring to understand. In Paris haute cuisine will come with atmosphere and a more formal decor. Loved to help but could you elaborate a bit more on your requirements?

|||

You know, I went to the Brasserie L%26#39;alsace on the Champs Élysées where they had traditional excellent French cuisine - it is a bistro but very elegant. There is also the Pied de Cochon which is same type of upscale bistro but the food is a bit more tricky if you have teenagers with you.

Another brasserie, white tablecloath, classic 1900 decor would be Vagenende in St Germain not the Quartier Latin but close by.

Would not qualified as haute cuisine but definetly a Parisian brasserie. Metro Odeon.

Thanks to everyone for answering me. I just found a restaurant called Le Coupe Chou, and it looks like what I might be looking for. Has anyone had a meal there?

|||

Numerous meals there, a bit romantic for bringing kids.

|||

Luckyluc -- better for the kids to learn romance a la Parisian restaurants rather than in today%26#39;s movies!! It looks sooo charming., Do you like it for lunch? Thanks, tennismom

Always was for diner at tete a tete., it have been open for many many years. It is what we call in French une valeur sure. A fun lunch would be le train bleu at la gare de Lyon. I brought my nieces there a few times.
