I have heard that there will be some areas under renovation from now till ....? and the Mona Lisa area is one of them...is that true? try to find info on Louvre%26#39;s website but section on renovation is in French. Can someone please help? I am looking at going to the Louvre during first week of May.

The Mona Lisa is being moved into a new room and will not be visible on April 4th. So you are safe in may.

There are areas of the Louvre under renovation on any given day... the daily room closings are cleary marked upon your arrival.
