Best way to get to Versailles,Giverny and Avers

Whilst in Paris I would like to visit Versailles, Monet%26#39;s home and Avers where I believe Vincent Van Gogh is buried. Are these places easily accessed by rail for a day trip? I didn%26#39;t really want to go on an organised excursion which are a bit pricey.

Versailles is easily accessable on the RER C line. Just be sure you go to Versailles Rive Gauche.

For Giverny, you can catch a train from Gare St. Lazare train station. It%26#39;s about a 45 minute ride. Then you must take a bus or taxi to Giverny. The ticket window at the train station can help with bus schedules.

Both are easily doable as a day trip if you plan ahead and start early.

Hi

RERC5 station Versailles Rive Gauche goes to Chateau Versailles.

The link below is extremely useful for finding out how to get from A to B and also has maps of the Metro/RER/ and the area around each station.

http://www.ratp.fr/

There is an English map to click on to navigate the site in English if that helps.

The nearest station to Versailles in RER C5 to Versailles Rive Gauche

I%26#39;ve found this site particularly useful over the years for getting %26#39;A to B%26#39; info for the Metro/RER trains.

You will see there is an English map icon to help navigate the site if you are unsure in French.

The site also has maps of both your arrival and destination stations available which can be useful also.

Auvers sur Oise is also easily accessible by train and you will easily find VvG%26#39;s grave... it is the one covered in ivy.

Thank you all for your advice. I look forward to a wonderful journey.
