I was watching a video but suspect the age of the video is not too current since they referred to Francs a lot. The video said that bus route 73 was a good route for tourists to take instead of one of those paying tours. Does anyone know if that%26#39;s true for Paris these days?
Thanks

Nr. 63 is very good. From Gare de Lyon via St. Germain-des-Pres to Porte de la Muette (16th arr).
Get off at Trocadero, unless you want to really end up at La Muette (and Passy).
Nr. 73 goes from Musee d%26#39;Orsay along the Champs Elysees to La Defense (in case you want to go up La Grande Arche.
Nr. 82 very good as well. Starts at the Luxembourg Gardens goes via Ecole Militaire (near Eiffel Tower) and takes you to Neuilly (American Hospital). Get off at Porte Maillot.
All of them will allow you good sightseeing for just one ticket.
Remember, if you change the bus, you need another ticket.

Nr. 69 is pretty good too. Takes you from the 7th arr. (Champ de Mars) to the Marais. A nice ride, mainly along the Seine.
When you ask for a metro map (a LARGE one!!) at any metro stop, you%26#39;ll also find the bus lines on the other side. Can be a bit confusing, but in case you get lost somewhere, just take the metro back.
BTW, the buses are a lot more fun and to some extent, also safer, especially later in the evening. Some buses run late, some don%26#39;t. You%26#39;ll figure it out, once you study the that map. ;)

If you want to see Paris by bus (and I highly recommend it) it is worth investing the 8 euros in a bus guide at any of the numerous Presse shops.
I live here and can no longer stand the metro, so when my bike is out of order I travel by bus.

Didn%26#39;t I hear that route 24 was a good one? Goes past Notre Dame, etc... Am I remembering correctly?

If you can find a stop for it, there is a special Sunday only bus route called the %26quot;Balabus%26quot; that really wanders around all the %26quot;big%26quot; sites of Paris starting at gare de Lyon out to La Defense and back again, taking a different route on its return so it goes though almost every well known area. You can hop off anyplace and get the next one. 73 is mostly right bank, isn%26#39;t it and 24 is pretty good too as is 69, which goes from Champs de Mars all the way east to Gambetta. Do be aware that not all the buses run on Sundays....24/69 do, 73 does not.
Love the buses,
Bea
