questions on Carte Orange

Hi!

Where to buy the Carte Orange without being refused?

Also, would someone comment on which is better for visiting Versailles? to buy the Versaille Pass alone or Carte Orange with Museum Pass?

Thank you!

your chances of being refused to buy the carte orange are slim. i wouldnt worry about it too much.. and it may not matter which metro station you go to... it is probably just a few specific workers who refuse to sell it to tourists.

i had no problems buying a carte orange, and they didn%26#39;t ask for any ID photo, although i did bring one and put it on the card because i think if you dont have it on there then you get fined.

i got a carte orange and a 3 day museum pass which helped us skip some longish lines and saved us a nice amount of time. the only problem i had was that the first metro station i went to (Port Royal RER B) didn%26#39;t sell the museum pass, but the one next to d%26#39;orsay museum did.

i bought my versailles train ticket separatley and just got a carte orange for zones 1 and 2. im pretty sure that worked out cheaper than paying for the extra zones.

So...when you asked for your carte orange did you do so in French? I have been practicing how to buy tow (for me %26amp; my friend).

Bonjour Madame/Monsieur. Je suis desole. Je ne parle pas tres bien Francais. Je voudrais deux cartes oranges pour cette semaine, sil vous plait. Zones un et deux.

You can always buy the carte orange transport ticket from a vending machine (in English) and ask at the desk for the card that you stick your photo onto.

Hi kelbel how are you =)

i think that french will be just fine

i said %26quot;bonjour. un carte orange, un semaine, zones un et deux.%26quot; (sorry i dont know how to spell in french)

and they seemed to understand that fine. i knew how to say it in full sentences like you typed out, but i guess the pressure got to me a bit and i chickened out and just listed the main words haha.

but if i ever visit again, i will force myself to speak more basic french in full sentences.
