Q for recent Paris travellers - What's closed?

We%26#39;ll be in Paris at the end of April. From the postings I%26#39;ve read, it sounds like the catacombs and l%26#39; Orangerie. Is this true? Anything else we shouldn%26#39;t plan for?

Also, any transportation strikes or anything like that?

The Orangerie will apparently be closed until most of us a ready to put in the catacombs ourselves! I%26#39;m not sure that any living person has actually been inside the Orangerie, although I%26#39;ve heard rumors that Phread has been inside (maybe she%26#39;s really a high level art thief by night).

The Catacombs are supposed to re-open sometime in May, but I haven%26#39;t seen a date. Also, I think that the Egouts de Paris are closed until May.

Get a copy of Pariscope, the weekly what%26#39;s on for Paris.

Runs from Wed-Tue, costs less than 1E.

Other similar what%26#39;s on guides would be L%26#39;Officiel or Zurban.

The latter is good for the young crowd. Lots of gigs and DJ events next to the usual stuff like movies, exhibits, restaurants, etc.

You%26#39;ll find all opening hours, closed days, special exhibits, church and jazz concerts, other special events, etc.

Even if you don%26#39;t read French, you should be able to figure it out. The restaurant recommendations aren%26#39;t terrible though. Better forget about those.

If you stay in a better hotel, you%26#39;ll may find some guides in English, like %26#39;Where%26#39;. Full of good recommendations, also some restaurant suggestions and places to hang out, etc.

BTW, almost everybody is awaiting the reopening of L%26#39;Orangerie. God only knows when this is going to happen...

As for the strikes.... ah, if we knew THAT...
