Looking Sandy Beach - Antibes or Juan Les Pins

Last year we visited the Cote D%26#39;Azure, and thought this year it might be nice just to have a %26#39;beach%26#39; holiday there.

Can%26#39;t decide between Antibes or Juan Les Pins.

Is the main Antibes beach too far from the main town, as there doesn%26#39;t seem to be many hotels in old town Antibes (not on the Net anyway) Or if we are after a sandy beach, restaurants, (not too pricey) and a few bars would we be better off on Juan Les Pins?

the Antibes beach is not so far from the main town, but may be you will prefer Juan les Pins, which has bar and restaurants along the beach.

My husband and I have a top floor condo. Not the best amenities, Although, we are right on the Cote D%26#39;Azure in Juan Le Pins. Million dollar view!!!! Nice Balconey overlooking everything. A must see to believe. We enjoy our time there every year. Because we live in America. we rent it sometimes to people we know and trust. I will be there with my daughter

this June 27 thru July 27th. If you are planning to be in the area. Let us know. It%26#39;s very noisy from all the clubs and resturants at night. One gets use to it. If we didn%26#39;t own our place. It would be ideal to rent a little place in Antibes and walk everywhere. You see alot!! Early afternoon is the best time to explore. You have your cafe, and a little breakfast,

and you can walk it off. Get ready for lunch! Although I just take the elevator down and go to the beach. There are Casino%26#39;s

grocery shops. If you prefer to make your own. Just ask.... People are friendly!! You would be Pleasantly Surprised. I don%26#39;t speak much french. My husband and I are both Jewish, Although he was raised in France, he speaks fluently.

Thanks for your repies

I was wondering how noisy it was in Juan, I would have preferred to stay in Antibesbut I am having trouble finding some where central (near Antibes town)

Hello Saral, My husband and I walk to Antibes every other day.

I think it%26#39;s better to rent a place for a week or two. Depending on what time of the year. You can get more for your money,

than renting a hotel. On the off seasons the noise is a minimum. You will never have a dull moment in Juan Le Pins.

Check in Rick Steves travel book for the Cote d%26#39;Azur (I think it is titled Provence and the Cote d%26quot;Azur). I know he reviews some of the hotels in oldtown Antibes. I was in Antibes last year and there are a number of hotels in town and along the beach. Unfortunately the only name I remember is the Hotel Royal. It%26#39;s on the beach but I can%26#39;t tell you anything about it. The beach is not very large, unlike the one in Juan les Pins, but it is lovely. There are a number of restaurants in Antibes but virtually no bars and nightlife. I was always amazed when exiting a restaurant after a late dinner by the lack of pedestrians and cars driving around at night. From the Hotel Royal it%26#39;s only about a 15-20 minute walk over to the bars in Juan les Pins. I definitely think Antibes is more attractive.

Can anyone recommend a hotel or apartment in Jean le Pins or Antibes close to the beach for Sept. 1-6? Anyone own a place that we could rent?

Hi Saral, you might like to check out www.antibesholidayflats.com

Over the years I have stayed at each of the apartments featured on the website. They are all lovely.
