How much french do you need to get by in france? And is the %26quot;Quebec French%26quot; at all similar to France French?

Although you can get by in English it is appreciated if you can say even a few words, even Bonjour! and merci. You need little basic French, if you can see yes, thanks, please, how much and count up to 30. I think that Canadian French should be ok.

Canadian French and French in France are about as different as American English and British English. Accent and a few words / expressions vary but thats about it.

I do know Quebec French, not fluently but a fair bit. I had heard many stories about the french people getting very mad at tourists for speaking quebec french to them so i just wanted to be safe.
