Hi,
My wife was wondering about the ease of getting a taxi in the evening after dinner. We had some great suggestions from folks on this i forum for dining. While we plan to walk or use the metro during the day, we thought it would be easier to take a taxi in the evening. Are the taxis easy to hail or do we need to call one from the restaurant? We are eating at Le Petit Zinc, Le Coupe chou and Bofinger if that helps.
Thanks

Have your restaurant call you a taxi as they generally do not stop for customers on the street but only at designated taxi stands. If you find yourself in a bind, an alternative is to find the closest %26quot;nice%26quot; hotel, where the bell staff will likely be glad to help...for a fee of course.

Or you could find a taxi stand. It%26#39;s probably cheaper than having the restaurant call one because they charge for the time it takes to get to you. From le Coupe Chou, I think you can walk down to Rue des Ecoles to the nearest one. From Bofinger, there%26#39;s a stand in Place Bastille. I don%26#39;t know where Le Petit Zinc is, but there%26#39;s probably one close by. Try to scope it out before you eat.

The taxis will stop in the street if they are free. If you are close to a rank they will stop here. In the nights after the metro shuts @12.30 they will be busy and you may have to stand in line at a rank. The resto will call one for you and they will charge you a few euros more for the ride.

Thanks for your help. While I%26#39;m sure we will be walking, it%26#39;s helpful to know how the taxi system works.
