"Must See" in Paris

Hello again

I will be in Paris for four days/3nights in June staying at the Novotel Les Halles.

Could you tell me %26quot;the Must See%26quot;, what I should not miss while visiting Paris. Any recommendations on buying a 3 day train ticket pass, museums passes, transportation will be helpful.

Thanks

This is a difficult question, because everyone has their own %26quot;must see%26quot; stuff. Aside from the big things that everyone knows about, what are you looking for? Are you an art lover looking for a small lesser known museum? Shoe fanatic that would love to see the Christian Louboutin collection? Chocoholic?

Give us a few more details.....

the grave yard w/ jim morrison and other famous people was great-gothic mini castles etc...

May I suggest that you make a list of categories in

which you are interested and then fill each category

from a good travel book on Paris. i.e.

CHURCHES: Notre Dame, St. Sulpice, Sacre Cour, etc.

MUSEUMS: Louvre, D%26#39;Orsay, Cluny, Marmatton, Picasso, etc.

GARDENS: Luxembourg, Tulleries, Rodin etc.

ONE AND ONLY: Eiffel Tower, Pere Lachaise, Seine, Opera,

Monmartre,etc.

ARRONDISMONTES: Latin Quarter, Marais, St. Germain de Pres

A good walking tour of an area you would like to explore.

The Hop On Hop Off bus is a good way to get the lay of the land.

A Metro Pass is important to have as is a Museum Pass.

Make sure you double check which museums are open

on which days to plan your itinerary and avoid dissapointment.

Best Wishes

What days will you be there?

|||

I am in Paris, for 4 days and 3 nights in June also - when are you there? I have sorted my itinerary already but am not bothered about the museums so it would probably be different than many peoples. You are welcome to see it though.

So far no-one has mentioned the catacombes ( underground tunnels lined with bones and skulls - I know it sounds sinister but people who have been say that is fascinating). It is very difficult to suggest must sees, as a previous poster said we do not know your interests, but perhaps do the main sights such as Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, Sacre Cour, Notre Dame. Then if into art do the museums that interest you the most, many of them have websites.

Thanks for your replies

I will be there June 24th.

|||

Same as me, I%26#39;m there from June 24th till June 27th. My main reason for going is the Iron Maiden concert at Parc de Prince on 25th June, but I%26#39;m really looking forward to everything else about Paris also.

Must see?

%26quot;ASTAgirl%26quot; arriving in paris. (sorry, couldn%26#39;t resist it!)

Sparks, shame on you!! If you don%26#39;t know what she looks like, she%26#39;ll be the 23 year old beauty trailing lines of 60 year old Frenchmen with their tongues hanging out and desperately trying to wrench the wedding rings off their fingers!

LOL...precisely! Maybe half the continent...
