Luggage never arrived home from CDG

Hi, Well we are back from our trip away, had a great time in Paris will write up our trip report some day but too upset at the moment, We flew with Aer Lingus from CDG to Cork yesterday and our luggage never arrived, we were assured that they probably %26#39;fell off the belt%26#39; but they didn%26#39;t arrive today either, this has put a damper on our holiday and we are not getting any satisfaction from Aer Lingus, if anyone knows how I can get in contact with the lost/delayed luggage dept in CDG can you let me know as I%26#39;m not getting any info from this side.. Thanks in advance..

Sorry to hear about the lost luggage Sue, but these things do happen. I think your luggage will almost certainly turn up, and probably sooner rather than later.

I did once lose a bag coming back from Paris, and even though I told the idiots at Air Canada what I thought had probably happened to it, it still took them almost three months to locate it. (Thank you, Air Canada.) By then they had paid to replace most of what was lost, though it took a fight. And the bag turned up finally in Geneva which was exactly where I had told them I thought it had probably gone. (It%26#39;s a long story...).

It really wouldn%26#39;t do you any good in my experience to try to contact anyone in CDG direct. The most they would do is buck it back to Aer Lingus. If you are really getting the run-around I%26#39;d suggest a call to the executive offices of Aer Lingus followed up by an email to the CEO.

Good luck!

we lost our bags one time , on the way to our destination...

and didnt get 2 of them back until half way through our vacation

and one of them we got just before we were coming back

and one of them we got 2 weeks or more after we were back home

be sure to give detailed descriptions to both airports and airlines about what the bags looked like, if they had address tags on them, and the contents of the bags.

Probably weekends are the worst time for luggage to get lost but I still think yours will likely show up quite soon.

I am so used to luggage not arriving back on the same plane we do that I have almost come to expect it. In reality it probably happens on one out of eight or so of our returning flights, but the missing bag(s) have always shown up eventually, and usually within 72 hours at the most.

Forunately we seem to be luckier when heading off on a trip overseas, though I can think of at least three occasions when our bagggage has been delayed, though never by more than 48 hours. One of these occasions was major serious at the time but it has since just become another travel tale to laugh and wonder at.

Hope your saga ends the same way - and soon!

Probably a good time to suggest that one should make sure they have good contact information inside each suitcase, as well as a copy of their planned itinerary for their holiday, complete with names, addresses and phone numbers and that the luggage tag info is inside the luggage as well.

I hope they do turn up, only one of our bags had a name on it, how strange that both our bags went missing?? I suppose it%26#39;s a waiting game still not even 48 hours but the waiting is killing me...there are lessons to be learnt but it really would put us off travelling if they don%26#39;t turn up.

Just to let ye know, they have found our bags in Paris, so we just need to wait for the next flight, hopefully they will arrive this afternoon..

Glad you got them back!

So happy to hear that, sue!

Now you can go on at least six trips without before you have to worry about your luggage getting lost!
