cheap hotels walking distance to sights

I am traveling to Paris with my mother in early May. Although I don%26#39;t mind taking the Metro around, she is hesitant, especially if we spend a day seeing separate sights. Can anyone recommend a cheap, but adaquate hotel, within walking distance of several sights? We don%26#39;t mind if the bathroom is down the hall... Thanks!!

Been of walking distance of all the major sights is a little bit difficult to do in Paris...but if you take your time, maybe...

I can recommend you a hotel called Hotel Rive Gauche, a 2 star hotel in Saint Germain des Pres....It is centrally located, the neighborhood is great....and the hotel is very clean!

The metro is an excellent way to get around - yes you should take care to conceal valuables in the event a pickpocket chooses you, but this is true all over, not just in the metro. It is a very safe way to get around. You can also use the tickets to ride the bus - get a map from the window where you buy the metro / bus tickets. You can walk a lot in Paris, but you can%26#39;t walk to everything.

You might need to specify a price that means %26#39;cheap%26#39; to you...due to the currency exchange rate, a %26#39;cheap%26#39; one-star hotel will be 50-70 Euro for a twin, and that is still $65-95 US dollars.

So - what%26#39;s your price range for a twin room (2 beds) per night?

By cheap, I mean under $135 US, or under 110 Euro. We don%26#39;t care if we have two twins or one double. Thanks!
