My wife and I will be arriving in Paris via the Eurostar from London on April 16th (my birthday present) thru the 19th of April. Looking for nice , but not too expensive cafes, restaurants, bars, etc. around the Hotel Terminus Lyon and any other advice you can give about getting there and enjoying what I%26#39;m sure will be a great time in your lovely city. We want to experience what the locals enjoy but unfortunately we speak no French. We live close to the border of Mexico and dive the Carribean frequently so we have spent out time learning Spanish, in fact we are actualy spending the first part of our trip in Menorca but my phenominal wife did not want me traveling on my birthday so she thought a quick jaunt to Paris would be a blast. Thanks in advance for any info!

There is the wonderful Train Bleu in the train terminal itself, up some art deco stairs. Even if you don%26#39;t eat there, be sure and go in and have a drink or just a look. The area around the train station is not very interesting but it is a short walk to Place de la Bastille via Rue de Lyon which is packed with restaurants. There are many on the place itself but better deals can be found by taking side streets off the place. Some nice places on Blvd. Richard Lenoir on the right or Rue de la Roquette. A very lively area. Avenue Daumesnil is also very close to Gare de Lyon and is interesting to walk down looking at designer stores converted from old wine storage units and topped with long walk way above made from an old abandoned railway track. There are several restaurants along here as well. If you have your back to the train terminal, Avenue Daumesnil is to your right, Rue de Lyon will be to your left.
