Hi, just wondering if anyone could recommend any hotels suitable for part of a honeymoon (4-5 days) in Paris.
We would be looking for something with nice restaurants and cafe%26#39;s etc nearby and convenient to the major tourist things. The main things we are after is a comfortable hotel room and a convenient location - don%26#39;t need (can%26#39;t afford) super luxury!
Thanks a lot

Hello ndee8957 -
I%26#39;ve been thinking a bit about this one, because some of the the hotels I wanted to recommend were out of your price range. Not that you need to spend more to have a great honeymoon. In fact I can think of perfectly wonderful romantic stays in Paris in hotels that cost a lot less. Just that the particular price range you are looking for is one that I am not that familiar with. More expensive, yes. Less expensive, yes.
So I thought - where would I REALLY want to stay in Paris if I were going on my honeymmon - and it all became clear!
The Ile St. Louis, that%26#39;s where!
So my two thoughts are the Hotel des Deux Iles, whose reviews you can find here:

and the Hotel de Lutece whose reviews you can find here:

In case you don%26#39;t know, the Ile St. Louis is one of the two islands in the Seine right in the center of Paris. Notre Dame is on the other island, just a two minute walk away.
And you are surrounded by more great restaurants than you could exhaust if your honeymoon lasted a year, not to mention the best ice cream anywhere in the world just down the street at Berthillon. And lovely little shops, and bigger ones close by.
Have a joyful honeymoon wherever you decide to stay, and a wonderfully happy marriage!

Definitely look to the Ile Saint Louis or the Ile de Cite (Notre Dame). There is the Hospitel Hotel Dieu. Sounds strange to stay in a hospital. But check the reviews and the rates. I think this will put you in an excellent location and still be economical. You will pay less than 200 euros.

If you don%26#39;t need the services of a hotel, consider a romantic apartment. You get more space than a hotel room, you can fix your own breakfast and have a more %26#39;local%26#39; experience.

Check out this apartment, it is soooo pretty for a honeymoon. It may be a little over budget and I am not sure if they will let you stay for as little as 4 nights, but it is a fantastic spot with the most romantic night time views of the Eiffel Tower.
But if you want someplace that is clean and more %26quot;parisian%26quot; than tourist--look at www.perfectlyparis.com Gail has apartments that are E600-700 for a whole week!!! And she may accept 4 or 5 nights instead of 6 nights. Tell her Randi sent you!

Thanks a lot for your suggestions everyone. I will look into them all!!
BTW, IrishRovr (I hope I remembered your name correctly), any of those more expensive hotels would also be appreciated - if worse comes to worst I can ask the boss for another payrise!
Thanks!

You also can look at Hotel Britannique, a so wonderful 3 star hotel...and very well-located too...between Chatelet and Notre Dame...!!!
It is very romantic for a honeymoon....And you also will pay less than 200 per night. The decoration in rooms is really beautilful...

I will second IrishRovr%26#39;s recommendation of the Hotel de Lutece on the Ile St. Louis. The hotel is not luxurious but it%26#39;s full of charm, it%26#39;s clean, the staff is fantastic especially Shanti (breakfast room attendant), Otilia (housekeeper), and reception staff Nathalie, Thierry, Eric, and Gustavo. BTW, the coffee is the best coffee I%26#39;ve tasted in Paris! :)
You%26#39;ll hear the bells of Notre Dame (5 mins. walk or so from the hotel). How romantic is that? More romantic spots? What about the Pont St. Louis which connects the island with the %26#39;mainland%26#39;? Also the hotel is located on one of the most popular streets in Paris, rue St. Louis en L%26#39; Ile. It%26#39;s got fabulous restaurants and if you heard of Berthillon, that%26#39;s two blocks away.
Whichever hotel you choose, you%26#39;ll be sure to enjoy Paris-the city of romance!

Hi again ndee -
Since you ask, and assuming you win the lottery before you get married, the two hotels I was thinking of are the Pavillon de la Reine on the place des Vosges in the 4th arrondissement (the Marais), and the Lancaster on the rue de Berri in the 8th arrondissement, between the Champs Elysees and the Parc de Monceau.
Of the two the Pavillon de la Reine is the less expensive, but it is also the one I would recommend for a honeymoon. It%26#39;s right on what is surely one of the most beautiful squares anywhere in the world, in a great neighborhood full of fascinating places that is not over-run with tourists (well not yet, and not quite...). It is surrounded by lots of great places to eat in every price range. And it%26#39;s within easy walking distance of the islands and the Latin Quarter.
I think a room there these days would be close to twice your target number.
So hit the boss up for a bonus!

We are going to Paris for our honeymoon later this year and plan to stay at the Artus Hotel (200-250EU) for its chariming location (heart of St Germaine), public transpo accessibility, and because we prefer more modern amenities. Our second choices would have been on the Ile St Louis, as others recommended.
