Eiffel Tower

I am planning on climbing the Eiffel tower up to the second floor. Now I understand there is an elevator from the 2nd floor to the top, which you have to pay seperatly. correct? I am hoping to go early in the morning, to avoid the crowds, so I want to climb and then get on the elevator to the top right away. Once you are at the top...when you come back down, do you come down to the second floor again? So, technically I can spend more time on the 2nd floor on my way down, right?

BTW, to prepare myself, I%26#39;ve been climbing the stairs at work...but I am only on the 4th floor :-O

Yes, you can walk up an then elevator the rest of the way. If you%26#39;re doing four storis now, you should be on track for your planned ascent (though about 1/2 to 2/3 of the way you%26#39;ll begin to develop a greater appreciation of the merits of Mrs. Otis%26#39; clever son, Elisha).
