need help for hotels in the eiffel tower area!

my girlfriend and i are planning a three day break to paris and want a location in the eiffel tower area. looking to spend around ��250pp each but am unsure as to which hotel is the best. looking at the hotel splendid but would love the hotel le Walt. any advice would be a great help as firts time travelling to paris! thanks

I believe I read that the Splendid either needs renovating or is undergoing renovations... the le Walt is in a different class altogether, from what I%26#39;ve seen online. Are there reviews of it here? Are you talking 250 dollars each (two rooms) or sharing for 500 dollars? That%26#39;s a generous budget.

Have a look at the Hotel Europe Hotel, a 3 star hotel with a lot of charm located near the metro stop Motte PIcquet Grenelle.

We just came back from Paris on Tuesday, March 15/05. We stayed at Timhotel Tour Eiffel. The room is small (but its quite typical to have a small room in Paris) but very clean. They were advertising their room rate at 80 euro/night (I%26#39;m assuming double occupancy) the day that we left. I think their rate fluctuates depending on when you decide to go.

I%26#39;m always impressed by the Mercur chain. It%26#39;s a bit pricey but is unusual that it%26#39;s very American by standards. [bigger rooms %26amp; baths] There%26#39;s a couple of these close to la Tour Eiffel.

Hotel De Varenne has received good reviews, this is where my husand and I are staying end of MAY

Please please stay at le Walt. I have just returned from there and it was fabulous. I fell in love with Paris and the Hotel and when I go back would not stay anywhere else. Book on Expedia I got a room for 1/3rd of the rack rate.
