Hi! I%26#39;m planning my first trip to Europe sometime in October. I know it%26#39;s a looong way to October but I%26#39;ve been busy planning. This site is awesome! :)
For the Paris leg of my trip, I%26#39;m eyeing an apartment just opposite the Jardin du Plantes. Can anyone tell me if it is a safe location (I heard that some parks can be dangerous for female travellers at night!) and whether it%26#39;s easy to go to the major tourist places from there? Thanks alot!

The parks within the city are generally gated closed at night, and this is certainly true for the Jardin des Plantes.
This neighborhood should be fine. You would be near the Grande Mosquee, L%26#39;Institut du Monde Arabe, the Seine and the Austerlitz train station. The Bibliotheque Nationale is also nearby.

Tks! Relieved to know that.
