Hotel taxi or private taxi to hotel late at night

We have just booked out hotel, Hotel des Batignolles, if anyone has ever stayed there would be interested in views, I emailed to confirm booking and asked about a courier taxi service as we are not arriving in Paris until 10 pm, they have emailed me back with a price, 32 euros, per person (there are 2 of us) in shared mini-van or 84 euros for both of us one way,in a private taxi, we are staying in the 17e, near Montmatre, that side anyway, has anyone any ideas whether it would be cheaper to get our own when we get there, or is that a reasonable price. Any help would be great as I don%26#39;t want to leave it too late to arrange it, we are going 22nd May.Janick

That seems way too high. Taxi at the airport should be around 50E.

Is the price for 32 Euros per person for a %26#39;round trip%26#39; (return to the airport when you leave%26quot;)? If so,then that sounds like one of the shuttle services, which are 16-19E per person each way.

If it%26#39;s only for one-way service, then a taxi from CDG should cost 35-40 Euro (could be a bit more for later at night, and they do add 1E per bag).

If the airport shuttle van is 32 Euro per person ROUND-TRIP than its a good rate. If it%26#39;s only ONE WAY then it%26#39;s approx. double what the regular price is.

Though at first the taxi fare sounds higher than the average of 40-50 Euro, this average is at the day-time (7 AM--7 PM) rate. After 7:00 PM the regular rate increases by approx 70%...so the 40-50 Euro daytime aveage becomes 70-85 Euro at night.

hi there thanks for your help, the taxi fare is only one way so I guess it is quite expensive, are taxis easy to get that time of night from the airport, or would be better booking one, the trip back isn%26#39;t a problem as we don%26#39;t fly back until night time either so we can take our time and make our own way to the airport, but when we arrive we will be making straight for our hotel.

We use a reliable Parisian taxi driver for transport from airport to hotel and for one day of touring the city, shopping, dining in a far off neighborhood. We have referred him to friends visiting Paris and they rave about him........... Bernard speaks fluent English. I would imagine he charges around $50 an hour, but he does give estimates.
