hotel advice

My 18 year old daughter and I are planning a trip to Paris in August (before she leaves for college) to celebrate our graduations (hers from high school and mine from graduate school). There are 2 hotels that are offering good deals - Hotel Pont Royal and Hotel Prince de Galles. 2 other hotels that look intriguing are Hotel de Sers and Hotel Lavoisier. Any opinions? My husband and I stayed at Hotel D%26#39;Aubusson 5 years ago. It%26#39;s a great hotel and a great location, but I thought it would be fun to experience a different hotel.

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel D%26#39;Aubusson 5 years ago as well and will be staying at the Prince de Galles in two weeks. I have a feeling that we will miss the area around the Hotel D%26#39;Aubusson at night but are really looking forward to the Prince de Galles. We%26#39;ll just have to invest in taxi%26#39;s to get our evening left bank fix.

Have fun planning your trip!

I don%26#39;t know the Pont Royal, but if you%26#39;ve got a great deal at the Hotel Prince de Galles, I%26#39;d go with it. It has a distinctly differently feel than the romantic, charming Hotel D%26#39;Aubusson, but is very good also. The Prince de Galles is more of an upscale, classic luxury hotel. Basically the very essence of what makes Left Bank and Right Bank luxury hotels different. The Prince de Galles is part of Starwood%26#39;s Luxury Collection line of hotels. It%26#39;s in a great location next door to the ultimate of Paris palace hotels, the Four Seasons George V, in the high rent neighborhood of the 8th arr. Very nice rooms, service that you%26#39;d expect at a five star luxury hotel, overall quite classy. Some excellent places to eat in the neighborhood, and just a very short stroll down the street to the heart of the Champs Elysees.
