Will be in Paris 4/2 - 4/6. I%26#39;ve heard there are awesome fleemarkets on Sundays. Is this true? We are staying at the Le Meridien Montparnasse. We have a metro pass covering regions 1 -5. How would you spend your Sunday?

Early morning flea market.....the bird market near Notre Dame (so cool!!) ....and a great walk down the Champs to the Arc.
|||
Walk in a park with the Parisians, Jardins de Luxembourg for people watching, the Buttes Chaumont for space and less snobery, Pere Lachaise cemetry for strange things and birdsong. Or the Montmartre cemetry followed by a stroll all round the area.
(The flea markets are at St Ouen, Montreuil and Clignacourt.)

A wonderful place to spend time on a Sunday is the Marias area, especially around rue des Rosiers and place des Voges, in the 4th mostly. Shops are opened, many interesting things to do and see...Many art galleries, some good museums in the area, many of the oldest mansions of Paris. Do try to see the new Jewish war memorial %26quot;Memorial of the Shoah%26quot; which is over to the south of the above area not far from the Seine....It is awesome! Bea

If I%26#39;ve never been to Paris before, my favorite Sunday activity would be (1) go to church, (2) go through a farmer%26#39;s market and (3) catch the RER to get to Versailles to catch les Grands Eaux Musicales fountain display (only on weekends March through September 3-5pm), (4) have dinner in Versailles or get back to central Paris.
|||
ps The region 1-5 metro pass will get to Versailles.
pps There%26#39;s a nice Farmers market that occurs on Convention in 15eme arrondissement. It straddles Vaugirard.

Thank you for all the tips. Anything else you can think of will be helpful. Our big goal for our Sunday is to kick back and enjoy. Eat good food. Enjoy the city. And to just be in one of the most beautiful cities in the world. It%26#39;s our second time. The first time we were always on the go and fit in as much as possible. This time we are going to relax more.
|||
on the April 3 rd, sunday afternoon from 2 pm to 6 pm if you go for a walk in Jardins du Luxembourg , you could watch and hear the Tartan Day Parade .

I would second Bea%26#39;s recommendation of the Marais area. There%26#39;s a great food market in the morning on Blvd Richard Lenoir - you could pick up picnic food to enjoy on the Place des Vosges. There is a central garden area that is very pleasant if the weather is OK.
The more individual shops of the Marais are open on a Sunday (some nice not too expensive jewelery shops) also the Picasso Museum and the Museum of Magic. There is a also Fauchon in walking distance which has a wonderful patisserie (try the orange eclairs) great for le picnic!
Fauchon Bastille :
10, rue Saint-Antoine
75004 PARIS
Tél : 01 53 01 91 91
Horaires d%26#39;ouverture :
de 8h à 23h
365 jours par an

i also agree with bea%26#39;s recommendation of marais /jewish area
