HELP, M%26#39;aidez s%26#39;il vous plait. the day I disovered this site I read a post from someone who had eaten in a restaurnat in Paris called something like 1728?? or maybe 1752 or whatever I cannot find the posting and I%26#39; m not having luck finding the restaurant anywhere else, can anyone out there help me? Once I get this one sorted out I will have more questions for you guys. I havelearned so much in the last few days I wish I had discovered you before my year away from the Canadian winter I call home.

PS I watched the hundred plus replies to the %26quot;how do we tell someone is American%26quot; Interseting twists and turns I bit my tongue more than a few times

Bonsoir Dona just type 1728 in the forum search function and all the posting will be there. Bon appetit.

thanks to both of you Now I need to figure out if is a good place to take my 16 year old daughter when we are there in May?

Dona, Without knowning the level of sophistication of your 16 years old daughter, passing a judgement is rather difficult.

I could add that my Canadian teenage nieces always enjoyed the lunch at a upscale brasserie like Vagenende in Saint Germain or even better Le Train Bleu at la Gare de Lyon. Both very parisian restos. Bon appetit.

You might be right suggesting a lunch, %26#39;L in Ottawa%26#39; It looks like prices are much less for the same menu items, in most restaurants. 1728 looks like a cool place, but it might not be right for her.

Do you have an opinion on The Moulin Rouge %26#39;/ Lido experience? We are only in Paris Thursday and Friday , Saturday morning we are heading towards le Mont St Michel and Carnac. We are taking a quick trip up into the Brittanyarea and then making our way back to the Haute Loire region, so she gets back to school on Tuesday.

We have been in France since September, but have not spent any time in Paris; she had been there twice before we arrived, done all the touristy things monuments, river tour, museums etc. I just flew through, and I have mixed feelings about not really %26#39;doing Paris%26#39; before I return to my regular life.

I say that because since I discovered this site last week I have listened to so many people plan their holiday, discuss ideas and places, heard such cool stories and anecdotes I wonder if I am making a mistake.

Donna, If your daughter is anything like my nieces so probably know exactly what she would like. With my nieces we have a understanding that for every two hours listening to their uncle talking about history and art they get four hours of shopping (me paying of course). For girls of 16 shopping shopping shopping and looking at the boys is the main interests. So do not worring to much, she is already lucky to experience France at a young age. La bretagne est magnifique, bon voyage a tous.
