Paris Metro

I will be in Paris for 4 days, and am planning on doing alot of walking. BI will also be taking the metro on occasion as well, and I wondered if a carnet of 10 tickets should be enough to get me around. I plan to spend a full day at versailles, so really it will only be 3 days of getting around. You all seem to know Paris so well, so what do you think?

When you go to Versailles, make sure you take the fast train. That%26#39;ll only take you 15 minutes from Montparnasse station. If not, it%26#39;ll take you 1 hour to get there (also from Montparnasse). So do double check. I was living one stop after Versailles and I%26#39;d always plan my trips so that I could always get on the fast train. I think a carnet of 10 should be enough....but that might be quite subjective.

RER C takes hardly a half hour from central Paris (transfer from normal Metro at St Michel, etc) to Versailles.

The carnet tickets only do Zone 1-2.

You%26#39;ll need one (%26amp; a 2nd to return) metro ticket good to Zone 4 for the excursion to Versailles.

One carnet will do you just fine. My wife and I walk tons. The two of us can get by with just one carnet each for a whole week and have leftovers.

If you do run out of carnet tickets, it won%26#39;t be hard to get a second one. Save your leftovers for your next trip! I found Metro tickets, over seven years old, that worked just this last month.
