Around what time is sun set in May? Eiffel Tour Q?

Plan to go up the Eiffel tour just before sun set. How%26#39;s the q%26#39;s that time?

What time do they switch on the flickering lights?

As for the sparklings, depending on when in May (beginning or end), I%26#39;d expect it will be on at 9 or then at 10 PM (11 PM, 12 AM, etc).

8 PM is likely to be too early.

It%26#39;s always at the full hour for some 10 minutes. It%26#39;s magic!

I%26#39;ve just come back from a weekend in Paris and the queues for the Tower are HUGE all day. We were told the best time to go is early morning - think it opens about 9.30am? - but it doesn%26#39;t close til midnight. We started queuing at 7pm (it was still light) and got into the building at 8.30pm but then had another 30-40 min queue to wait in to get to the very top. It was pitch black by the top we got up there so I think it may be quite difficult to calculate being at the top for the sunset. It was worth the wait - although I%26#39;d say the views would be much better during the day.

They turned on the lights at 8pm and I think they do so every hour for a few minutes. We got down from the tower at 10pm (queues to get back down, too!) so we saw the effects from outside and it looked amazing.

By the way, there are 4 queues to get in the Tower - one at each pillar. The smallest queue is always the one which has stairs only (the others have lifts) because you can only get to the second floor. It%26#39;s probably worth going in this queue to save time because once you are on the second floor, you can pay extra to get to the top. I think money-wise it works out the same price!
