Places to swim in Paris?

We%26#39;re thinking of spending 5-6 days in Paris at the end of June/first week of July with our kids (coming from London). Don%26#39;t have a hotel yet, but am wondering about neighborhood type swimming pools. Are there any and how does one gain entry?

I know of pools where you can work out. They are olympic size 50m types in sports centers. I don%26#39;t remember anybody splashing around playing in them though. They%26#39;re all indoor. Entry is about maybe 2E. There are front doors and lobbies. Go through them, pay your tarif and go through locker rooms.

There%26#39;s one just across the street from the Pompidou on the east side. You%26#39;d have to look carefully for the entrance because the facade all around it looks very business district like. There%26#39;s another on the east side of Vaugirard just as you are exiting Paris Zone 1, before crossing over the %26quot;beltway%26quot; and by the big exhibition area. There are others.

There are municiple gyms in every arrondisement and they are open to the public (for a fee) at varying hours throughout the week. It will probably be easiest to inquire at you hotel upon your arrival for the closest pool. And yes, kids are welcome to go and splash around.

There is a water park in Paris called Aqua Boulevard, with waterslides and a wave machine.

There are free wading pools at the Luxembourg gardens, just in front of the orangerie (behind the museum) but they are reserved for the under 10 crowd.

My dear French friends have told me that they used to swim at a nice public pool %26quot;directly across the street from%26quot; the hotel I stayed at on my last trip: the Hilton which is on Avenue Suffern. Their home is right in the neighborhood, so we were marvelling that we all probably passed each other on the street without realizing it before we met. Hope this helps...if you are staying nearby, maybe the concierge at the Hilton could give you information.

The hours of operation may vary by the time of year...but the locations won%26#39;t--

Thank you all for the information about pools! I thought this might be a good opportunity for them to be around some other kids for a little bit - and if it%26#39;s hot, it would be a nice respite.
